Very helpful, even planed the board that I bought!
We bought a walnut/epoxy table off of Etsy and I'd expected it to have a top coat of epoxy sealing the tabletop. It didn't and the walnut was raw, with no protective coating of any kind on it. The manufacturer - who was out of Turkey - recommended that I call Black Forest Wood Company. I not only bought the BF furniture oil, but the ceramic coating and top coating. I watched all the BF videos, instructing how to seal the table, and coat the table. I had a spot I had sanded on the table, causing a huge blemish in the epoxy, and they even helped me out with that. I was able to completely repair and seal the table. It looks amazing! I highly recommend buying the furniture oil, ceramic sealer and all the pads, microfiber application sheets and microfiber hand towels. Everything together cost a bit more than the competitors, but it was all totally worth it! (I did have to purchase some 8000 grit sandpaper elsewhere for the final removal of my sanding scuff, but the BF crew advised me on how to best work with it!!) 5 stars all the way!!
This oil has quite a learning curve, especially if you only other experience is with linseed oil or other similarly liquidy finishes.
Went way too heavy on my first coat, but having learned from my mistake the second and third (only two are required but I figured a third can't hurt) went on super easy and the end product looks phenomenal.
Currently waiting for it to fully cure and then applying the ceramic coat, if the ceramic meets my expectations I'll be a repeat customer for sure.
For any first time users, it cannot be stressed enough just how little is needed!! What ended up working for me was dipping a plastic spoon in the can, and letting it drizzle on, and from there I would just periodically touch the table and when it was no longer tacky or not as tacky I would apply more. From there, just follow the directions on the can and your work will have an amazing finish :)
Went on easy, wood looked good and had a nice water repellency.
Amazing product -
Easy to apply and great finish. Highly recommend. Arrived quickly and clear instructions as well as great YouTube videos as well.
