Aluminium transfers heat about 7 times faster than steel. When combined with CBN, which conducts heat 20 times faster than copper to the aluminium, you can sharpen at a cooler temperature with less risk of tool damage compared to a steel wheel.

Black Limba originates out of West Africa. It has Heartwood that is a light yellowish to golden brown, sometimes with grey to nearly black streaks and veins. Limba Wood with darker figuring is referred to as Black Limba, while plain unfigured wood is called White Limba. The sapwood is a pale greyish to yellowish brown. Colour tends to darken with age. The grain is straight to slightly interlocked and is a little bit less dense as Black Walnut. Black Limba is used for furniture building, musical instruments (electric guitar bodies), knife handles, pens, fancy boxes, and turned objects.
Thin wood is perfect for furniture restoration, model making, marquetry, luthiery, intarsia, steam bending, curved lamination, box making, art backing and most woodworking and craft hobbies. We machine thin wood sections to a thicknesses of 3mm, 6mm and 9mm at a width of 3", 4", 5" and 6" and length of 35"

Traditionally known by the name Satine, it’s no wonder that this wood (commonly called Bloodwood) has grown so popular as a wood species. Though it poses some challenges in working characteristics, its hardness, strength, and coloration make this a crimson favourite.
