Wood Essence is very pleased to make available to Canadian customers a metal-complex liquid dye concentrate that can be used as a bare wood Stain or as a Tint compatible with many other finishing products including lacquer, shellac and waterbased finishes.
Frequently referred to as Aniline Dye, these pre-dissolved liquid dye concentrates are easier to use than powders. They are mixed with water or alcohol and can be added directly to many other waterbased or solvent finishes such as lacquer. They provide deeper, more even penetration than pigment stains, particularly on hard woods such as maple. Dyes are also frequently used to establish a base color on wood, followed by pigment wiping stains or glazes.
