Natural Edge Bowl Turning Weekend workshop

NATURAL EDGE BOWL TURNING WEEKEND WORKSHOP

If you have been turning bowls and want to learn how to incorporate natural or live edge into your turning, this workshop is for you.

In this workshop, we will go through the steps from log to bowl including: how to select a log for the best natural edge effect, orienting the bowl in the log, how to cut a natural edge bowl blank and then how to turn and finish a natural edge bowl. We will show how to balance the high and low points when the blank is mounted on the lathe to present the best ascetic.

While the emphasis in this workshop is on making natural edge bowls there is an opportunity to make other items that incorporate the natural edge such as vases and mushrooms.

This is not a workshop for the beginner-turner.  If you have not turned bowls before, you are advised to take the Fundamentals of Woodturning before participating in this workshop.
