Nice surfaces. Slightly warped. Had some chip out due to grain orientation. Otherwise worked perfectly for the quilt hangers I was building for a friends wife.

Fantastic job. Sounded simple to just cut the plank into 6 equal slabs and refinish the sides to ensure flat and smooth. Purpose was to make blocks for Japanese woodcut prints so he was aware I guess that maybe more required than usual, but I never called for that and expected to have to do some remedial sanding and prep prior to use. He came back to me once to make sure the first example was sufficient. It took a little longer than I thought it would to finish and peeked in and saw the worker taking extraordinary care to finish the blocks and ensure they were completely smooth and square. Made it so much easier to use. The blocks were simply a joy to pick up and go straight to work on

Absolutely gorgeous wood. Surprisingly heavy. Haven’t turned it yet but it will make amazing handles.

I've had this block for around eight weeks now and I love it. High quality, It's been great sanding both flat and contoured surfaces.
