Both boards have great grain, however one was exceptional. I had a buyer before i even started cleaning up the live edge. I head to the back looking at what BF has for olive almost every time i am in there.

This course (apprenticeship, really) was a birthday gift. With Black Forest’s extensive tonewood inventory, I could choose amazing material (Cocobolo and Western Redcedar) to build my dream guitar (a mini-jumbo akin to a Gibson J-180). Brad was unfailingly patient with this novice, innovative when things went sideways and generous with his knowledge. While the entire project took the better part of a year, the end result was easily worth the expense and the agonizing anticipation over the course of the year.

Love using the Padauk Thins for cutting boards - makes the cutting boards much more interesting.

I was able to sort through and find some boards with fantastic character. Two have already been sold to very happy customers.

Walnut board very nice as usual. However the olive boards have incredible character. Will be very nice once sanded and finished.

Received my order with 4s4 poplar project wood and was very happy with the product , It was light and very easy to work with. I use it to do engravings and the wood is very receptive to the engraving laser . Will order again
