Ceramic Coating not what I expected.

High excitement at receiving the magic potion that will make all my work look like Maloofs chairs...suddenly turned to complete sadness and buyer regret...
Followed the instructions from the video's and written instructions very carefully - looking for that expensive sports car lift in sheen and finish.
But to no avail - used the Diamond product on a Linseed oil and wax polished Art piece - but it had 0 visible effect but did however make it feel smoother / more polished/ more protected ??
Figured it was the oil finish that prevented any shine uplift (it is well cured etc) - so repeated the process on a recently finished Gunstock - this has been super carefully OCD finished in 6 coats of Rubio over a thinned boiled linseed base coat with sanding to 1200 -2500 on the stock before finishing. Well cured - stock completed 6 months ago and rifle unused..... ( I have made many gunstocks at a commercial level and perfected my finishing techniques for different use types and client needs)
Again - all I got was a nice 'hardening' effect from the top coat - but no change in sheen whatsoever.
A real shame as the product is impossibly expensive to get all the way down here in N.Z , and all the videos from yourselves and Black Tail (N2) show really impressive uplift when applied.
I can only assume I'm doing something wrong.

Great product

Was hesitant to apply to my beautiful countertop but it applied wonderfully and love how water beads on the surface. I can see it works.

Great Stuff

I have used the platinum ceramic coat on 5 coffee tables now and I really like it. Adds a very nice sheen and smoothness.
As you need 2 coats of base coat for every one of top coat...perhaps you could sell the bottles in that ratio.
I would also like to know why the ceramics for wood are so much more expensive than the ceramics for cars?

Very average stuff

After hearing the owner hype this stuff up, I have to say I'm underwhelmed. I get it's just graphene so I probably shouldn't expect anything revolutionary, but for the price I was hoping it would be worth it. I find cheaper Graphene coating performing equally. Do not be a fool like I was. It's not a bad coating and if you like supporting them I get it, they're a cool company it's why I bought it. Don't be fooled though it's just a normal graphene coating like many other manufacturers have.

Black Forest Ceramic Coating

Description

What is a ceramic coating?

Black Forest Nano Ceramic Coatings are scientifically formulated to penetrate microscopic surface pores to provide a bonding layer of protection that is incredibly strong and resilient.

Typically, the protective ingredient found in ceramic coatings is SiO2 (silicon dioxide). However, in recent years, some incredible advancements have been made using Graphene as the protective ingredient, proving it to be superior to SiO2. Therefore, all of the Black Forest coatings are made using Graphene.

Graphene coatings are one of the latest technological advancements to hit the coatings market.

This carbon-based nano-material isn’t exactly new - a pair of British scientists discovered it back in 2004 and went on to win the Nobel Prize in 2010 for their research. Fast forward to today and Graphene has grown in popularity, especially in the automotive detailing space. We are now expanding this technology and bringing it into the woodworking industry!

What are the benefits of a ceramic coating?

Ceramic coatings work by adhering with the surface to form a protective shield that is next to diamond in hardness and hydrophobic causing liquid to bead on the surface.

By reinforcing the surface, Black Forest Nano Ceramic Coatings are ideal in preventing and minimizing surface damage including: abrasion, chemical stains, UV damage and oxidation.

The higher surface sheen of Ceramic enhanced surfaces are easier to clean.

Our Base Coat products provide the best protection when paired with the Top Coat, further enhancing the life span, finish and sheen. You can order everything as a kit for some savings here.

Top Coat can be applied periodically to maintain optimal surface protection.

Our Ceramic finishes are designed to be used as an additional layer of protection over top of your existing finish. We recommend our Black Forest Furniture Oil.
