Description

Paul Howard M33x3.5 index system inc arm

The extensive indexing system by Paul Howard with 60, 48, 36, and 14 increments offers every woodturner an extremely wide range of scope for precise drilling, milling or fluting.

The indexing system fits any lathe with an M33 x 3.5 spindle thread. However, the disc itself is not screwed on but placed on the M33 thread. By screwing a chuck or a faceplate, the indexing system's disc is fixed in place, similar to a washer. For this purpose, the disc has a hole in the center that measures 34 mm in diameter. The disc has a total diameter of 250 mm and can be used from a center height of at least 130 mm.

An index lock is included to fix the setting arm, which can be clamped in the bed.

Possible hole patterns:

The 14-hole line can be divided into steps of 1, 2, and 7.

The 36-hole line can be divided into 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 12, and 18.

The 48 hole line in 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, and 24.

The 60 hole line in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, and 30.

The disc of the system was made of aluminum and laser cut to high precision.
