Description

If you have been turning bowls and you want to take it to the next level then this workshop is for you.

In this workshop, we will first make a basic bowl to review the steps and cutting techniques that produce a clean surface directly off the tool and dramatically reduce the amount of sanding.

To improve our tool control abilities we will then turn an Ogee shaped bowl which develop the skills needed to blend convex and concave curves. We will have the option of colouring the rim of the Ogee bowl which uses techniques to make a sharp transition from the coloured area to the natural surface.

To learn about the versatility of various chucking methods we will make a lidded bowl. The lidded bowl not only makes a wonderful gift but is a good project for learning a variety of turning techniques.

This is not a workshop for the beginner turner.  If you have not turned bowls before, you are advised to take the Fundamentals of Woodturning before participating in this workshop.

By registering you acknowledge that you have read and understand the Workshop policies found here.

Instructor: Terry Golbeck

Day: Saturday & Sunday

Time: 9am-5pm

Location: Black Forest Woodturning Studio, Bay 7, 603 77th Ave SE, Calgary
