In this workshop, we will first make a basic bowl to review the steps and cutting techniques that produce a clean surface directly off the tool and dramatically reduce the amount of sanding. To improve our tool control abilities will then turn an Ogee shaped bowl which blends convex and concave curves. We will have the option of colouring the upper rim of the Ogee bowl which uses techniques to make a sharp transition from the coloured area to the natural surface. To learn about the versatility of various chucking methods we will make a lidded bowl.
This is not a workshop for the beginner turner. If you have not turned items before attending this workshop, you are advised to take the Fundamentals of Woodturning first.
