Move over Rubio, you have a contender

This product is amazing. It's fairly easy to apply and buff off. I did about 10 tables with one large can. The sheen it'll build looks comparable to urethane finishes. I apply 2-3 coats depending how porous the wood is.

Good product.

I’ve only used it on a small project. It went on very well. I didn’t use a mechanical buffer. It buffed very nicely by hand. I used two coats and gave me a nice shine on walnut. You can only use very little. My quart of product will last a long time

My new go to finish!

I used this to finish my walnut and maple workbench. I am extremely happy with how the finish brings out the natural beauty of the wood. Every step of the way the littlest of figuring, curl, and other hard to see features popped out as I was applying it. I was especially impressed with the tone that the maple took on. This product also has almost no odor which is a huge plus for me since my shop is in my house and other products you could smell throughout for 2-3 days after applying them.

Now to talk about the application of the product. Most of us have seen the videos of them applying it to table tops with sanders and polishers so I was a little concerned how this might go on a fully assembled piece of furniture where you have to apply by hand. I did not take anything apart to apply the finish here and I have to say that the application of it was still very easy. For my application I cut several roughly 2" square pieces of white scotch brite pads to do my main application of the product and would replace them as I felt they were getting too wore down. For the top I would use a stick to drizzle the finish on and then buff it in by hand with the 2" square pad. For the rest of the bench where surfaces were vertical or corners that might be hard to get into I would just lightly dip the corner or edge of the pad in the oil being careful to not get too much as a little goes a long ways. I tried to work in areas that I could cover in 3-5 minutes. After that I followed up with a bigger piece (2"x4")of white scotch brite pad to buff in the finish and after doing that I would just buff off any excess with a lint free cloth. I did this process for the entirety of the bench and didn't notice any runs, drips, or variations from overlap areas. The product was just the right consistency to be able to work into the corners with the white pad and as long as I did it after spreading a bigger area working my way towards the corners I didn't experience much pooling of the product and everything looks finished without some of the lines you might see with other finishes where you can see that it didn't get in the corners good.

I think this is going to be my new go to finish for projects. A huge thanks goes out to Black Forest Wood Co. for making this product available to all of us and producing great videos that we can learn from! I definitely recommend this to anyone who might be on the fence about it, especially if you are thinking of applying by hand.

Finish applies as easily as Osmo, and seemed to spread more evenly and didn’t leave any streaking. I’ve only done one table with it so far, however client says she is very happy especially with the water repelling of it.
