This oil has quite a learning curve, especially if you only other experience is with linseed oil or other similarly liquidy finishes.
Went way too heavy on my first coat, but having learned from my mistake the second and third (only two are required but I figured a third can't hurt) went on super easy and the end product looks phenomenal.
Currently waiting for it to fully cure and then applying the ceramic coat, if the ceramic meets my expectations I'll be a repeat customer for sure.
For any first time users, it cannot be stressed enough just how little is needed!! What ended up working for me was dipping a plastic spoon in the can, and letting it drizzle on, and from there I would just periodically touch the table and when it was no longer tacky or not as tacky I would apply more. From there, just follow the directions on the can and your work will have an amazing finish :)
Went on easy, wood looked good and had a nice water repellency.
Black Forest Furniture Oil
What a great product! Very very easy to apply (I use a 3M filler squeegee, then a white pad on an orbital then blue shop towel). Doing the proper first coat looks great and scuffing to add a second coat just bumps the sheen on your piece.
Coupled with the Diamond coating to give my clients a long time protection.
I would be buying more now, but even with 2 dining tables and a coffee table done my 237ml can is still 1/3rd full But will be re-upping with more Oil and more Ceramics. No more other brands oil, no more two part mixings, just plain and simple easy to use.
