Shaper Origin System
The Shaper Origin System combines the flexibility of a handheld router with the precision of CNC machining. Built around Shaper Origin, the system expands with Workstation, BenchPilot, Plate, and the Shelf Upgrade Kit to handle everything from portable routing and joinery to hardware installation, batch production, and automated cutting.
Shaper Origin
Shaper Origin is a handheld CNC router that puts CNC-level precision directly in your hands. Guide Origin along the path displayed on its full-colour touchscreen while the tool automatically makes small corrective movements to keep the cutter precisely on track.
Origin makes it easy to cut joinery, profiles, patterns, inlays, engravings, signage, and more without traditional CNC programming or G-code. Designs can be created directly on the tool or imported from virtually any design software.
Origin features a capacitive multi-touch display, Wi-Fi for over-the-air updates, USB file transfer, and a Festool-produced brushed motor spindle built to Shaper specifications. Its dust port accepts standard 27 mm and 36 mm extraction hoses.
BenchPilot
The new BenchPilot transforms Origin into an automated, hands-free milling system. Clip Origin into BenchPilot and it automatically drives the tool from point A to point B while Origin handles the fine corrective movements required for precise cutting.
Designed to integrate with Workstation, BenchPilot creates a flexible gantry-style system capable of horizontal and vertical milling. It's ideal for repetitive joinery, profiles, inlays, engraving, batch production, and other time-consuming operations.
Variable feed-rate control provides real-time speed adjustment, while Origin displays cutting progress and estimated time remaining. When automated operation isn't needed, simply unclip Origin and return to handheld use. No complicated CNC programming or G-code is required.
Shaper Workstation
Workstation expands Origin with a fast, accurate, and repeatable fixturing platform for positioning workpieces vertically, horizontally, or at an angle.
Built-in reusable ShaperTape allows Origin to recognize Workstation and recall associated designs. The T-track clamping face accommodates the included or compatible clamps, while indexing pins simplify alignment and registration. An adjustable shelf supports smaller workpieces, and the angled fence positions stock from 0° to 45°.
Workstation can be clamped or permanently mounted to a bench and packs flat for convenient storage.
Shaper Plate
Shaper Plate provides a fast, accurate way to position Origin for hardware installation, System 32 holes, bow-tie inlays, rounded corners, and other alignment-critical operations.
Simply mark the desired position, align Plate, and cut with Origin. Multiple fences and a center drop-down reticle make it easy to accurately position designs throughout the 120 x 160 mm cutting window.
Plate features durable reusable ShaperTape, an anti-slip backing for secure positioning, and an included System 32 pin for maintaining precise 32 mm hole spacing.
One System, Multiple Ways to Work
Use Origin for portable CNC routing, add Plate for fast hardware and layout work, pair it with Workstation for precise fixturing and joinery, and add BenchPilot for automated hands-free cutting.
Together, they create a modular CNC system that can move from handheld routing to precision fixturing and automated production without the footprint or programming requirements of a conventional CNC machine.
